Know who awards it and what it costs.

Each programme page will list who awards the qualification, the full fees and the entry requirements, so you can check before you commit.

Five kinds of qualification

Starting out, returning to study or looking abroad: each one is described by what it covers, who awards it and what you can study next.

Which of these sounds like you?

Finished school and not sure what comes next?

You may be choosing a subject, a level or a way in. Start with what you enjoy and what your results allow. You do not have to decide everything today.

Six things to check before you commit.

A title does not tell you enough. Look for these six answers on any programme page, ours or another college’s.

  • Who awards it

The institution that awards the qualification, and the organisation that teaches it. These can be different.

  • Level and length

The level of the qualification and how long full study takes.

  • Recognition

Any accreditation, regulatory approval or professional recognition, and what it covers. If there is none, we will say so.

  • Where it leads

Further study or work the qualification may lead to. It does not guarantee either.

  • The full cost

Tuition, registration, exam fees and any compulsory charges, added up.

  • Getting in and finishing

What you need to enter, what you need to complete, and any conditions that apply.

What to look for in day-to-day study

Guidance from the start

Before you apply, you can ask about eligibility, content and recognition, and get answers in plain language.

Practical work

Where a programme includes them: assignments, case studies, projects and class discussion. Each programme page will say which.

Academic support

You should know who to ask about coursework, assessment and progress, and how to raise a concern.

Dates and results

How and when you will be told about timetable changes, deadlines and results.

Who you study with

Ask about class size, whether classes are online or on campus, and who else is on the programme.

Practical help

Help with paperwork and with planning what to study next, where the college offers it.

Questions people ask first

Short answers on fees, entry and recognition.

Start with your interests, your earlier qualifications, your career goals and the time you can give. Then compare what each programme covers, how it is recognised, who can enter and what study can follow.

It depends on the qualification, who awards it, and the country or body that assesses it. We will state recognition for each programme and will not make a general claim. If you need certainty, ask the recognition body in that country.

Every programme page will name the awarding institution. If GCHE works with another institution, the page will explain the relationship in plain words.

It depends on the programme. Before you decide to enrol, you should receive a full fee breakdown: tuition, registration, exams and any compulsory charges.

That depends on the study modes a programme offers. Part-time, evening, weekend or online options will be marked on the programme page where they exist.

Entry requirements differ by programme and level. Check the academic, language and professional requirements listed for the qualification you want.
